“A Legacy in the Valley” highlight's a very special piece of City of Phoenix history. The film examines the life and accomplishments of two African American women, Helen K. Mason, founder of Phoenix's Black Theatre Troupe, and Mary Green, recognized as the first African American woman to settle in Phoenix, whose great accomplishments throughout their lives helped shape the City of Phoenix of today.
